The oppositionist died in the correctional colony № 3 in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. This is reported by the local department of the Federal Penitentiary Service:

Navalny was actually tortured to death, human rights defender Olga Romanova told MO. “Of course, it’s Navalny’s murder. And there’s no reason not to get to know the customer.
